What duvet cover size is best?
We usually say the best size is your bed size & your duvet inner size. Ie, a king single duvet cover for a king single bed & king single duvet inner. If you do like some over-hang or to tuck in your duvet on the sides, then go up one duvet cover size. Eg. For a queen bed, go up to a king duvet cover & duvet inner..
I’m in love with one duvet design but a different sheeting design. Does that matter?
It definitely doesn’t matter. And we love a good mix & match. Don’t be scared to match pieces from different collections – they have been designed to be all mixed together.
And colours don’t have to be an exact match. You want them to tone.
If you do want exact colour matching, you can do this too by using bedding from the same ‘collection’. But there are no design ‘rules’ with Patersonrose bedding. We have intentionally designed all of our bedding to be as mix & matched as much as possible.

You say your product is Okeo-Tex certified. What does that mean?
It guarantees that our all of our products have been tested and are free from nasty, harmful chemicals & that our duvets & sheeting & pillowcases & bedspreads have been ethically & sustainably made.
How do I know when a sale is on?
By subscribing to our emails ( we don’t email you unless there is something exciting to say ), you become a VIP customer & get notified 1st when there is a sale on, before it is posted on socials. We also usually have clearance designs listed on our SALE page.
Do you ship internationally?
We sure do. If you live in NZ or Australia, shop online & freight is calculated for your order. If you live outside of Australia & NZ, then please email us with the designs, items & sizes you would like to order & we will generate a freight quote & invoice for you.
Do king single sheets fit a double bed? And vice-versa?
No they don’t. A king single bed is longer than a double & rectangular. A double bed is square. So a king single fitted sheet will not work on a double bed.
We have not made double bed sheeting for a number of years, so to get sheeting that will fit a double bed, we recommend buying queen sheets & pulling the fitted sheet in firmly under the mattress.
I am wondering if I should use a top sheet on our beds or not? What do you recommend?
We love a sheet set with the fitted sheet AND top sheet & recommend a top sheet on a bed. Most of our customers use both sheets as it is so much easier to change & wash a top sheet each week than undo, remove, wash, dry & replace a duvet cover. Also a top sheet is the perfect weight in the summer on those hot, balmy nights. But it is up to each individual.

Should I pre-wash my new bedding?
Yes. We suggest you do wash your bedding in a cool wash & hang immediately – do not leave wet in the washing machine. Please follow the care instructions on the product.
Is it a good idea to put my cotton bedding in the drier?
Your Patersonrose bedding is made of natural cotton so loves being hung out on the clothes line for natural drying. But you can use a drier on a warm drying temperature (not hot), although we would not recommend regular drier use..
I am not sure if a quilt cover will work in the room I am wanting to use it. Can I get a sample sent?
You sure can. Go to our accessory section / shop-a-swatch & you can select up to 3 different Patersonrose fabrics for us to send you. This is currently available for NZ customers. For international customers, please email us with your request sales@patersonrose.com.
My mattress is very deep. Will your fitted sheets fit?
Our fitted sheet depth is 40cm which fits most standard & deep mattresses in NZ & Australia.
You call duvets ‘duvet covers’? Are quilt covers & doonas the same?
Yes they are all names for the same product. A duvet cover is the same as a quilt cover & doona cover.
How do your duvet covers close?
Most of our duvet covers have dome closures at the foot end of the duvet / doona cover. One design has button closures. Please refer to the particular duvet design information.
